A noise filter is an electronic component used to suppress, reduce or eliminate noise interference in an electronic system. It is usually in parallel with AC or DC lines and can filter out the high-frequency current generated when the converter valve is in phase.
There are many types and applications of noise filters, a common one is the electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise filter, also known as the power supply noise filter.
The noise filter is mainly used to suppress the electromagnetic interference noise in the power supply, which may come from the power grid, harmonic sources, etc. By filtering out these noises, the filter can help the equipment successfully pass the relevant electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test, and the electromagnetic interference noise generated by the power grid and harmonic sources to a certain value or some national standards required within the limit.
Noise filters also have signal line filters, control line filters, audio line filters and other types. These filters use frequencies of a specific frequency or frequencies other than that frequency to perform effective filtering operations to eliminate specific types of noise.
