What Is An Integral Flange?
The integral flange(IF) is a connection method of a flange, which belongs to a steel pipe flange with neck butt welding. It is made of a single piece of material and forms a sealed joint at the junction with or. Compared with the traditional split flange, the integral flange has higher strength and reliability.
The material of the whole flange is carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, etc., which is mostly used in pipelines with high pressure. The production process is generally casting, and the sealing surface form can be a convex surface (RF), a convex and concave surface (MFM) or a mortise and groove surface (TG) according to the different working conditions.
The integral flange has the following characteristics:
- High strength: Because the integral flange is made of a single piece of material, it has high strength and stiffness, and can withstand greater pressure and impact loads.
- Good sealing: The whole flange is sealed by sealing gasket or sealing ring, which can effectively prevent medium leakage.
- Easy installation: The structure of the whole flange is simple, and the installation process does not need to disassemble and assemble multiple parts, saving time and labor costs.
- Strong adaptability: The whole flange is suitable for the connection of various pipelines and equipment, and has good versatility.
