What Is A Screw Pump?
A screw pump is a positive displacement pump that transports or compresses fluid through the rotating motion of a screw. The flow rate and pressure of the screw pump are relatively stable, which is suitable for transporting liquids of various viscosities, especially for liquids with high viscosity, particulate matter and strong corrosion.
The main working parts of the screw pump are the screw and the pump shell, the screw is usually rotated in the pump shell, so that the fluid is sucked, compressed and discharged. The working principle is that when the screw rotates, the space between the screw and the pump housing gradually decreases, drawing the liquid from the inlet and pushing it to the outlet. Because the space between the screw and the pump housing is closed, the liquid cannot leak out and can only be pushed forward with the rotation of the screw. With the rotation of the screw, the liquid is continuously inhaled and discharged, forming a continuous flow.
Screw pump also has applications in the field of ships, mainly used to transport fuel oil, lubricating oil and other liquids. Because of its high reliability and easy maintenance, screw pump has been widely used in the fluid conveying system of ships. In addition, screw pumps can also be used in chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other fields to meet a variety of different fluid transportation needs.
