What Is Lubricating Oil Pump?
Lubricating oil pump is mainly used for conveying lubricating oil in the lubrication system of various mechanical equipment. Its main function is to extract the lubricating oil from the oil tank, after pressure, and then transported to each lubrication point, to provide lubrication for the parts.
Lubricating oil pump is usually composed of pump body, gear, shaft, bearing, front cover and back cover, sealing parts, coupling and other components. According to different working principles and structural forms, lubrication pumps can be divided into many types, such as gear pumps, hydraulic pumps and so on.
Almost all types of ships need to use lubricating oil pumps, because lubricating oil pumps are an integral part of the ship's lubrication system. The lubrication pump delivers the lubricating oil to the various lubrication points of the ship, providing lubrication to the parts to reduce friction and wear and extend the service life of the equipment.
Lubricating oil pump can be divided into gear pump, vane pump, plunger pump, main engine oil pump, auxiliary oil pump, emergency oil pump, horizontal oil pump, vertical oil pump, hydraulic oil pump and so on.
In large passenger ships, freighters and other ships, the lubrication pump is usually installed in the engine room area, and the lubricating oil is transported to the whole ship through the lubrication system. At the same time, in some ships, multiple lubricating oil pumps will be combined into lubricating oil pump groups to improve oil supply efficiency and safety. In addition to passenger and cargo ships, other types of ships such as oil tankers, chemical tankers, liquefied gas ships, etc., also need to use lubricating pumps.
