What Is A Non-Metallic Valve?
Non-metal valve refers to the valve body and other parts made of non-metal materials. Non-metal valves have the advantages of corrosion resistance, wear resistance and good sealing performance, so they have certain advantages in some specific applications. For example, in the chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries, non-metallic valves are widely used in situations where the medium has high requirements or requires corrosion resistance.
Common non-metallic valves include plastic valves, ceramic valves, fiberglass valves and so on. Generally, non-metal valves are more common in chemical tankers, refrigerated ships, and ballast water treatment systems.
Chemical tanker: Because the liquid that chemical tanker needs to transport is mostly corrosive, non-metallic valves, such as plastic valves, ceramic valves, etc., are often used in the pipeline system of such ships.
Refrigerated ships: refrigerated ships need to maintain the tightness of the cabin at low temperatures to prevent cold air leakage, so non-metallic valves are often used in the refrigeration system of such ships.
Ballast water treatment system: The ballast water treatment system needs to control the cleanliness and microbial content of the water quality, and non-metal valves such as plastic valves are used in the ballast water treatment system of such ships.
