What Is A Safety Valve?
Safety valve is an automatic valve, usually installed on the pressure vessel, pipeline and other systems, used to release excessive pressure, to prevent system overpressure. When the pressure in the system exceeds the specified value, the safety valve will automatically open and discharge part of the fluid to reduce the pressure in the system. When the pressure in the system is reduced to a safe range, the safety valve will automatically close or remain open to maintain the normal pressure of the system.
The role of the safety valve is that when the pressure inside the ship reaches a certain value, it can automatically open, release excessive pressure, and ensure the safety of the ship. Common Marine safety valve types include spring type safety valve, lever type safety valve and deadweight safety valve. When choosing Marine safety valves, it is necessary to consider factors such as their applicability, reliability and economy, and install and maintain them in accordance with relevant specifications and requirements.
In the course of sailing, the pressure inside the ship will change because the hull is affected by external factors such as waves and wind. If the pressure inside the ship exceeds the design range, it may lead to serious accidents such as hull rupture and explosion. Therefore, in order to prevent the pressure inside the ship from exceeding the allowable range and ensure the safe operation of the ship, safety valves need to be installed on the ship.
